Something about Chemot

The most unusual inhabitant of the southern foothills is a small hemot. The animals are very friendly and intelligent, so they are easy to tame. However, they are not aggressive at all, so they were of no interest to Ashvad.
And yet the demon found a use for them. He tamed several chemotes, hung small leather bags and clay vessels on them, and taught them how to collect the herbs and minerals he needed. The animals scurried through the most dangerous crevices, collecting the necessary ingredients for the shaman.
When Ashvad left the gorge, forever sealing the entrance to the canyon with a Mirror, several of these "working" chemots remained outside. They were found by local residents. To the surprise of the hunters, the ferrets did not run away to the wild steppe, but stayed with people, as if accustomed to the company of intelligent beings. Since then, in the southern villages you can find a lot of hemots with bags on their backs. They carry water, collect roots and can even deliver a small note.
